Each bike is a collaboration of other makers around the country: Seats from Tapia Seats, Batteries from Powerful Lithium, Frame Components from Paragon Machine, Painting from BC Powder Coating, the list goes on. Every bike uses non proprietary, easy to work on components. They are all hand assembled right here in Connecticut. This includes soldering all wiring harnesses, welding frames, and extensive road testing. We are not a “drop ship” off the shelf company. We truly care about every single bike we build. Moped, Motorcycle, ebike…what is it?

The Javelin has been designed and approved by the NHTSA as a “Motor-Driven Cycle.” It is not a motorcycle and is not a sub 750watt ebike. This definition is drawn from a 5hp power limit, regardless of pedals.

States use the term Moped, Scooter, and Class B to designate “motor-driven cycles.” Many states also include a 2hp limit and 30mph street limit.

BACKGROUND

The Javelin was developed over two years as a way to bring frame building to the USA. We’ve raced these bikes on track, experimented with countless design configurations, and are now excited to see them in customers garages.

We find the design is best suited for street riders who commute on 25mph and 40mph speed limits. It is NOT designed for the highway and is illegal to do so.

HOW FAST IS THE JAVELIN?!!!

Out of the box, Javelin goes 35mph in legal street mode under the category of “motor-driven cycle,” and 55mph+ in Track mode. The bike uses an open source Fardriver Controller that can be programmed.

How is it Shipped?

The Javelin now ships by freight and requires about 1 week for delivery. Front wheel and handlebar installation required.
